We explain how to associate video sources from ReflexNDI to your video switcher (vMix for the demonstration).
Demonstration on how to configure vMix and OBS softwares to receive NDI inputs from ReflexNDI application running on the same local area network. Should be similar for any other platform supporting the NDI protocol as input.
Because you can define one or more channels into the Reflex DashBoard, you will then have to choose one of these in ReflexNDI application according to the broadcast you are planning to perform.
We strongly recommend that you disable (shut down) sources that you know will be unnecessary during your upcoming broadcast to avoid unnecessary load that could lead to audio and video dropouts.
We demonstrate that each NDI source window is actually a Web browser with a dimension fixed at the 16:9 ratio; ideal for online video streaming.
We explain how to select an area of the source to transmit to the video switcher. We also demonstrate the search with CTRL-F and the Zoom functions with CTRL+ and CTRL-. Everything is preserved between two starts of the application; including your identifications to various websites.
We explain how to connect to your Reflex GreenRoom account and how to choose your distribution channel.
The color of a source's title bar reflects its switched status: blue means off air, yellow is preview mode and green is on air. With "OFF-AIR OPTIMISATION" activated, sources currently off-air are going to send their content at 1/8th of their size and at 1 frame per second. This results in 3 benefits: a reduction of the bandwidth usage, a reduction of CPU/GPU and memory usage on the ReflexNDI host computer and a reduction of memory and CPU/GPU usage on the video switcher computer.
TURBO mode is used for two purposes: firstly it locks down all source window interfaces. Otherwise, when the mouse is moved over a custom web source, some text or controls may appear automatically. Secondly. it will also prevent overloading your CPU/GPU on the ReflexNDI station, and subsequently reduce the risks of audio and video stuttering.
Before starting each broadcast, it is very important to ensure the good quality of the entire chain of transmission. Often, the video participants are not yet online, so you can simulate audiovisual presences with the TEST mode. We provide default video segments, but you can configure your own.
We explain how to perform preliminary tests and optimize the configuration when CPU/GPU resources are saturated. We also demonstrate the Turbo option which saves resources and allows the user interface to be barred to avoid accidentally disrupting a live broadcast.
Demonstration that from the ReflexNDI PC, it is possible to transmit the main screen or an area of it, with its well synchronized audio output, to the video switcher.
